COMMENCEMENT OF DESIGN TO BUILDING OCCUPANCY IN UNDER 8 MONTHS.
Tendered as an off-site manufactured design and build project, the builder Construction Management Group (CMG) saved the Ministry of Education over $70k by building flat-pack manufactured onsite.
The project delivered four new 86m² science classrooms with a full length covered verandah and external paving. The flat-pack construction method allowed greater flexibility in the building design and enabled a faster more cost effective construction process.
A key advantage of the system was the ability to construct the building on a concrete slab rather than elevated above ground on timber piles. This provided a more durable foundation and significantly reduced the need for ramps and stairs, improving accessibility for students and staff.
