TE WHARE HIKINGIA NGĀ REORUA

Developed in close collaboration with Onerahi Primary School, this project delivers a new Whare designed to become a central gathering place for the kura. The building provides a flexible learning environment while also creating a space that supports connection, culture, and community within the school.

The facility accommodates two classrooms supported by breakout learning spaces, allowing for both collaborative and focused teaching environments.

Generous outdoor areas extend the learning environment beyond the building, providing space for activities, gatherings, and informal teaching. Accessible entry from the side ensures the building is welcoming and easily reached from surrounding areas of the school.

Designed as a long-term asset for the kura, the new space establishes a strong focal point within the school and creates a meaningful place that will serve current students while being passed on to future generations.
