KAMO DENTAL

Located in Kamo, Whangārei, this project involved the expansion and refurbishment of the existing Kamo Dental clinic to support the growing needs of both patients and staff. The original facility was limited in scale, with only two treatment rooms and constrained space for X-ray equipment, storage, and staff amenities.

The extension significantly increases the clinic’s capacity, introducing five additional treatment rooms and a dedicated consultation room. Supporting spaces were carefully planned to improve functionality and workflow, including generous storage areas, a staff meeting room, an open-plan clinicians’ office, a call centre, and an enlarged reception and waiting area designed to comfortably accommodate patients and their families.

The retained portions of the existing building were partially refitted to enhance staff facilities, incorporating a staff dining area, kitchen, bathrooms, and additional office space. Particular care was taken to ensure the extension seamlessly integrates with the original structure, resulting in a cohesive and unified clinic.

Completed in July 2022 and constructed by ARCO Group, the project delivered a fit-for-purpose healthcare facility that balances clinical efficiency with a welcoming and functional patient environment.
